Why I do What I do?... How Mostra d'Arte was born?

I’m sure many of you have reached a point in your life where you want to know what truly makes you happy. I've had to learn that lesson the hard way. Now that I know what it is I'm sticking to my guns and I'll keep going.

I love to paint and draw. I love to sing and write. I never really knew why. I never asked myself why until recently. When I feel the urge to draw and paint, I'm usually really moved. I tend to emote through imagery. I’m not the best artist or an expert at visual art but I know what I feel and I like handling paints and sketching pencils. I know deep down that I want to get better. I appreciate what I see. I never had the means to pursue art but God gave me ways of doing what my heart felt joy in doing.

My work was always very private, but I found that when I drew something that other people admired or liked, their smiles made me smile inside too. When I sang it made me smile and when it made others smile, I felt even happier. When I wrote something that touched someone, I was touched as well. It felt very warm at the very core of my chest. I took criticism and improved what title skill I had, and I enjoyed taking to people about their passions and beliefs. I loved the culture of art and the color it brought to my life. It was then that I realized that art and sharing it, teaching it and learning about it from others and helping others develop their own made me so happy. There was something I could do about it. In UA&P I am in the process of developing a Fine Arts student organization where highly art is our end objective. Mostra D'Arte (art exhibition) was developed to give students and outsiders a venue to live the culture of art in all its forms. The organization has been up for one year since the end of 2006, it's gone through many obstacles like loosing founding core member in accidents or relocation to other countries, but despite all that it's still up and will only get better.

That's why I do what I do. I get down but I get up again. Never give up.

Like so many things we need in life, all it takes is a little faith (n_n) cheers.

I believe that happiness is a choice. We can be happy if we choose to be...And for that to happen we must know what makes us happy. IT's crucial, but it's why we should learn from our mistakes and move on.

=_=

hi ganda

haha different things make people happy, art is just something that really makes me happy, and helping other people. (n_n)

here's some advice, take a moment to just chill out and think of what makes you happy....like what one thing do you like doing that makes you feel good inside and makes you laugh and smile till your cafe hurts...and all this happiness you feel while alone, meaning you don't notice or realize that your smiling about it....that might give you an idea of what really makes you happy. good luck dear!

i wonder.. where do you get inspiration to draw and paint? i wanna try if i might actually have a knack for that, hehehe

for mark,

so what's your definition of wierd? lol!

kit Palabyab said...

for Creative,

yes the org does give workshops, we meet every two weeks, our moderater is actuall the head of the arts department (n_n) but most of the time we take turns heading each meeting, like one person will head the discussion or workshop for that day and it's up to that person as to how to teach the lessons, i like a open minded environment, but we do have reall art professors with us for the critical stuff if we want it

yeah it's called for the love of heart brake but that doesn't mean that it really has to be sad art....heartbrake can be interpreted in many ways...oh and no im not heartbroken anymore cuz i found mr right and no the org is not emo!! lol i get that a lot.....wrong impression lol...the person who made the poster was kinda emo now that i think of it, well wrong move, it's our first exhibit anyways

so guys, are there any other people out there who have a nack for something but don't know how to go for it?

bubbles and cream said...

yeah mark what's your idea of wierd cuz you may find one thing wierd but others might find it normal

devil's advocate said...

can someone define normal?

bitter exbf said...

devil's advocate: like what?

bitter exbf said...

normal - something that everyone does.

bitter exbf said...

weird is something unusual.

devil's advocate said...

@ bitter ex bf
like have you ever wanted to do something that made you happy but something stoped you from doing it?

devil's advocate said...

in my opinion there's no such thing as normal. norms are exactly that which a majority does but it's wrong to mark someone as abnormal, it really depends on the situation, case, refrence or disposition of the person and society

that's touching..

Yup, I agree. Everyone should do what they love and have faith in it. We are all special and unique :)
